Animal and human health: tackling uncertainty through participatory modelling and simulation
نویسنده
چکیده
Public health practitioners agree today on the importance of jointly addressing the medical, social and environmental dimensions of infectious and parasitic diseases, especially zoonoses – diseases communicable between animals and humans. This approach incorporates knowledge from public health, animal health, agriculture and the environmental sciences. It provides a better understanding of the determinants and risk factors associated with health, with the goal of proposing management models to suit every context, whether local or regional.

Modelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...
متن کاملModelling the Dynamics of Human Resources Capacity in Health Care Services A Case Study of Khatam-al-Anbia Hospital of Mashhad
Background: In service organizations such as hospitals, human resources (HR) play a key role in the quality of service delivery. Lack of a systemic attitude in terms of system dynamics, HR planning have been somewhat distant from reality. In order to solve such a problem, this study aimed to modeling the dynamics of human resources capacity management system in healthcare services. Material...
متن کاملA framework to promote collective action within the One Health community of practice: Using participatory modelling to enable interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral and multi-level integration
As Southeast Asia (SEA) is characterized by high human and domestic animal densities, growing intensification of trade, drastic land use changes and biodiversity erosion, this region appears to be a hotspot to study complex dynamics of zoonoses emergence and health issues at the Animal-Human-Environment interface. Zoonotic diseases and environmental health issues can have devastating socioecono...
متن کاملKnowledge mobilisation for policy development: implementing systems approaches through participatory dynamic simulation modelling
BACKGROUND Evidence-based decision-making is an important foundation for health policy and service planning decisions, yet there remain challenges in ensuring that the many forms of available evidence are considered when decisions are being made. Mobilising knowledge for policy and practice is an emergent process, and one that is highly relational, often messy and profoundly context dependent. ...
متن کاملEarly Health Economic Modelling – Optimizing Development for Medical Device Developers?; Comment on “Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modeling”
This commentary considers the positive and negative consequences of early economic modelling and explores potential future directions. Early economic modelling offers device manufacturers an opportunity to assess the potential value of an innovation at an early stage of development. Early modelling can direct resources into potentially viable technologies and reduce inv...
